1967 Pontiac Grand Prix

It's not often you come across a coveted mid-'60s cruising machine that not only carries the same shade of paint it started out with, but is also a true, numbers matching rarity with its original drivetrain still intact, as well. But, that's what we have here with this 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix and it's got the documentation to prove it.
With its very distinctive styling, generous proportions and very sharp turquoise paint, this Pontiac has some serious curb appeal. It occupies a territory often sought after yet seldom attained - visually embodying its era while at the same time looking different from its counterparts. Up front, a pair of hidden headlight doors raise and lower like blinking eyes inside an expanse of grille and bumper that literally runs the entire width of the front, and the set of slanting running lights directly above almost takes on the appearance of eyebrows. On the sides, a single body contour runs the entire length of the car. You're not going to get lost in the crowd with this one, not even on the most well-attended of cruise nights. It's a big, roomy coupe, generously proportioned from hood to cabin to trunk, and plenty broad, as well - just tailor made for afternoons out on the road with a group of friends. There's a good bit of chrome featured and it's representing well - the front and back bumpers look straight and the trim running below the doors holds firm and flush to the body, showing no obvious dings.
Take a look inside and you'll see an interior packed with smile inducing retro styling. The tachometer is mounted on the hood, just beyond the windshield, and that angular center console with its bevy of controls is awesome. The parchment-colored vinyl of the bucket seats up front and the bench seat in back contrast nicely with the black of the carpeting and woodgrained dash area. It's a comfortable environment, as well, with factory A/C, a tilt column and power windows that roll up and down without incident. You could definitely see yourself spending some serious time behind the wheel and, with this much room inside, you'll want to invite your buddies along. The spacious trunk area in back has been well-maintained, with a matching expanse of turquoise carpeting running side to side and the full-sized spare sitting securely on top, leaving plenty of room for all the luggage you and your passengers might need for road trips.
Underneath the contoured hood sits the original 428 cubic inch V8 this Grand Prix started out with. Outfitted with a 4-barrel carb on top, it's a very capable powerplant, churning out an impressive 375 horsepower. Paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission, the engine is in fine form, firing right up, idling smoothly and speaking with a very appealing note through the dual exhausts. That generous wheelbase, combined with a number of new components in the front end and suspension, make for a nice smooth ride, and with both power steering and power brakes at your disposal, you'll really enjoy sliding behind the wheel and getting out on the road. This mid-'60s cruiser par excellence sits with an aggressive, inclined stance on a set of rare 14" Pontiac 8 lug wheels with a truly unique spread pattern, wrapped in Cooper Cobra radials.
