1968 Cadillac DeVille Fantastic

You need to do absolutely NOTHING to this car except enjoy it!It runs and drives like a Cadillac. The car was an always garaged, one owner, almost rust free car when it was restored in 2002 (top, custom interior, paint, engine, transmission, air ride) at a cost of about $40,000.It has somewhere between 30,000 and 35,000 miles on it since then, and still looks fresh. It was an award winner at the big Charlotte Good-Guys Southeastern Nationals show in 2005. A picture book of the restoration is included. Also included is an original 1968 Cadillac service manual, a service manual for the climate control, and a manual for the electronics. AND a new custom fitted car cover!

The car has power top with glass rear window that works as it should. No rips, tears, or leaks. About thirty seconds up or down. All the electric windows work, but the driver’s is slower than the rest. The custom interior includes bucket seats and a console with air ride controls, air level gauge, and tachometer, a small diameter tilt & telescope steering wheel, and electronic speedometer and volt meter. There is also the AM/FM/CD player and equalizer, feeding 720 watts of power to the four speaker sound system plus a ten inch subwoofer.I’ll include my CD of about thirty 1968 hits!

The amps are in the trunk along with the subwoofer, air compressor and air reservoir. There is an air hose connection on the tank and a coiled hose that will reach any tire on the car if it should get low.The ‘three body’ trunk still has plenty of luggage room. The A/C blows cold and the heat works fine, making the car comfortable year round.New A/C compressor and hoses last year.

The 472 cu. in. 375 hp engine starts and runs fine, with NO SMOKE even after sitting for weeks. It does have some valve train noise that I have been told is common for the first year 472. The T-400 transmission shifts smooth and positive. The car is geared 2:93, so it gets pretty good gas mileage for its size and weight. The distributor has been changed with a Pertronics conversion so points are no longer an issue. The alternator has also been changed to a one wire unit with built-in voltage regulator. The dual exhaust system looks recently done.Air ride gives you the option of user controlled ride height, and is a hit at Cruise-ins and car shows. It is adjustable from standard to about four inches of lift, or slammed down on the frame, controlled with the two rocker buttons on the console.

The exterior of the car is completely stock, even to the Tri-Star headlights. The paint is 1970 Cadillac Crimson Pearl tri coat. The chrome and stainless are both infantastic shape. The wheel covers are 1953 Cadillac “Sunbrero” smoothies, with centers that match the paint. Tires are nearly new. An excellent set of chrome Cadillac wire wheel covers with mounts and locks are included. The carpets look new.The interior is what Cadillac wishes they had done for the car. This is the time of year to put the top down and enjoy the fall leaf color. It is also the time to become ‘one of the guys’ at the cruise-ins and car shows. This beauty is accepted and enjoyed ANYWHERE!The only reason I’m selling it is that my wife and I are downsizing and moving to our mountain house, where I have no garage space for it.Come see and drive this beauty in Statesville, NC, just off Interstate 77.You’ll fall in love with it, just as I did!And it’s a bargain! The starting price is the reserve, so bid to win! You can drive it home!
