This truck was ordered by the U.S. Department of Energy and delivered in November 1969 to Los Alamos, New Mexico where it was under the direction of the US Atomic Energy Commission. as vehicle number 28355. For the next decade, this Chevrolet truck acquired 43,000 miles of service before it was sold 1979 to the public in Santa Fe, NM. That owner drove it for the next couple of decades until it was purchased a couple years ago. With 86,000 miles, this truck was in great shape with no rust and was a perfect candidate to receive a complete frame off 2-year restoration. During the process, the owner struggled to change the stock 6 cylinder, 3 speed to a V-8 small block. But at the end of the day they kept this truck as stock as the day it went into service. The body was treated to receive one of the most popular car colors in its day, Hugger Orange which makes this truck stand out in any crowd and the focus of photographers everywhere it goes. The wood floor in the bed was refinished in maple, and every panel is as new as the day it rolled of the assembly line. As the classic truck market continues to heat up, and a truck of this caliber continues to be harder to find, the value will only increase in the future
