This breathtaking Mercedes was originally delivered to it's 1st owner

in 1971 who lived in Pasadena, California. The owner registered the car to

their business located at 2965 E. Colorado Blvd, Pasadena,California

The paperwork indicates the car was first sold by the Mercedes Benz Dealership

in Hermosa Beach, California at 25 Pacific Coast Highway, Carwell Corporation on March 10th, 1971

I purchased this very low, magnificently restored rare and last year of production 280SL

in 2009 and sold it to a wonderful South Florida family with 79,029 ACTUAL DOCUMENTED MILES.

In the past 8 years that they have owned this 280SL, they drove it LESS than 100 miles a year.

It has always been kept inside their climate controlled garage, never driven in the rain and the

brand new soft top has never seen the sun or rain. They have asked Garage Memories

to sell their beloved Mercedes because they travel so frequently, they just don't have the time to drive

and enjoy this car.

They have made sure that the car was started at least once a month and driven

a short distance in their residential neighborhood by one of their staff.

This car needs nothing. It is "Turn Key" and ready to drive any distance, any time, in complete

safety and comfort.

Tons of paperwork...here is a partial list...

Warranty book with metal ID plate (shows delivered on 03-10-1971)

Warranty Original Envelope

Mercedes Benz original owner's manual with original case

Becker Europa Stereo original warranty book (in service 3-10-71)

Frigiking Original Warranty Book (in service 3-10-71)

Electrical original wiring diagram book

Kangol original lab & diagonal LP3 seat belt operating instructions

Roadster original top manual booklet

1971 was the last year of production of the 280SL with only 526 cars produced for the United States.

Here are the number of cars that were produced for the worldwide market between 1967-1971

1967: 143 cars were produced and shipped to a few select dealers

1968: 6,930

1969: 8,047

1970: 7,935

1971: 830

The most desirable, most sought-after 280SL was the 1971 model.

By 1971 Mercedes had this model perfected...and that's why most want a 1971 model.

These cars had Power assisted disc brakes (all 4 wheels)

AM/FM Radio (this car has the Becker AM/FM & it works perfect)

It has ice cold Dealer installed Mercedes Benz Frigiking air-conditioning

The air-conditioning warranty book indicates it went into service on 3-10-1971.

This is one Mercedes that drives as good as it's Concours D "Elegance looks.

What about price?

280SL in this condition are selling from $85,000 to $150,000....and at a top Auction this car would

command a minimum selling price of $115,000 to $125,000...it's that nice.

You can own this "Drop Dead Gorgeous" Concours Quality 280SL with documented low mileage

for a fraction of the price others are asking. It has an incredible amount of ORIGINAL paperwork,

manuals, books, ect.
