Description:

1965 Mercedes-Benz Other Funken Wagon

This is an unmolested, original radio truck, been in our family about 8 years. It has a gasoline heater above the cab, front and read air ports,& chains for the tires in the original burlap bags. Odometer does not work but the replacement cable necessary to repair is included. The frame for the rag-top is included, along with the canvas if you'd like, butthe canvasis in poor shape.

The vehicle runs well, but on the rich side & may require a carb. adjustment.Thetransmission shifts well andaseasily or as easily as I understand these beastsare capable of. The radio cab is in very nice shape and has a built in desk, and a24 to 12 v converter. The radio boxreads: Zeppelin-Metall Werke GmbH 7990 Friedrichshafen Dat. 30 3 88. I take this to mean the box was installed in 1988, but I could be wrong. I do not believe the box leaks at all.

With respect to rust, it does not appear to meit has had any body work done to it. The only areawith rustyou should be aware of isbelow the drivers door on the body.I do not believe there is rust around the headlights as I understand other Unimogs suffer from. Batteries are new a few years ago. Other issues requiring attention: the right rear brake appears to leak a bit of brake fluid, but the air brakes operate andhold pressure well. The water pump has a drip & may requirereplacement or a new gasket.

Overall,I am unaware of any major issues with the truck. We've had plenty of fun with it over the years driving county roads in Northern Wisconsin. It has not been pushed hard since we've owned it or abused. Three of the tires match & one is newer. Tubes have been installed.Shop manuals, owners manual, etc. are included. If you're familiar with these trucks you know they are not daily driversbut are a ton of fun.I've not driven the vehicle more than a fewhours at a time &recommend trailering to it's new home. These are such unique vehicles I recommend checking out videos on YouTubeto get a betteridea of their capabilities.

I've described to the best of my knowledge & drove it around the block for fun the other day but it is over 50 years old & sold as is. Another is for sale on ebay for $50,000. I'm not sure how that makes any sense, but this is a great truck & for a fraction of that price youcan buy this & convert to your own specifications I'd imagine. Please contact me with questions.
